ad proposal

this is the planning phase for my advert

I am going to make a advert which has to be freaky and has to be understood what the product is that i am advertising which i choose to advertise safety which is very impotent and becoming rare on ads and is best way to change a person without charging them money since there has been known deaths cause of people not being safe so i was thinking of doing that ad for that
I got the idea when i found a advert where is a robber looking though a window as a woman holds on to a weapon but i can't find it 

I was gonna use 3 shots where is gonna be the background, the robber though the window and the person who's defending itself which i will be the batter but unsure who's gonna be the robber but the shorts will not be changed but maybe the settings which will be minor since the camera HAS to be in program mode which lets me change the ISO as it automatically sets the aperture and shutter speed settings

The props i might need is a bat (any kind) which i can bring into collage but i will have it make sure is in a black bag so when i take it no one will think i'm a threat sure is stupid but is the law

Then when i'm on Photoshop i will crop out me and the robber and carefully edit in the background image which i will take the image first which i will use either the pen tool or the quick selection tool which i will use around me and the robber then move then to the areas that fit but i will make sure they fit in the rule of thirds which is a 3 by 3 square which makes sure how a image should be centered in a way  which best fit like the 4 small corners where the lines cross or the sides but usually never the middle but i have to use the centure for focusing the image which to focus the image i have to half press the shutter which take it to focus mode

i will be wearing my average clothes since the batter don't been to be all fancy or smart for a feaky advert which is to make the audience think about safety 

subversive advert

a subversive ad is where is a advert that tells the truth about the company
i chooses to make one for the company nestle who known to make sweets but they also known for making pollution  which effect animals and this was by version of the "new" ad
this advert is showing that when you eat the bars your making them pollute more and on top of the chimney is the bird that are always on there logo 

photography evaluation

Q1. What is ISO and what does it effect? is how much light the lens allows into the camera
Q2. When would we use the ‘P’ control setting on the camera mode dial? for simple images that don't need too much detail like if is a still image with a not bright sky
Q3. Name two important consideration when attaching the tripod base plate to the bottom of camera?make shore is facing the right way,make source is tight and locked on
Q4. Name three important considerations when using a red-head lighting kit?don't touch the shades if the light is on, after putting away the light don't touch any part for about 10 mins or more so it cools down, make shore the stand is balanced so there no chance of it collapsing  
Q5. When focusing the camera, what do we place on the object/subject to ensure it is the center of focus?the rule of thirds

Q6. Name two techniques we can use to adjust the brightness and contrast of a photograph? ISO and aperture 

anyways for 5 weeks we learnt and made a freaky advert by looking at other ads and knowing how a camera works this was my end result 
we had to make this by using 3 or more images and photoshop then together which i used these images
 this was gonna be used for the background
 this image i was gonna crop out the door which has the creepy robber 
i was gonna crop out the person with the bat and put it in the background
we were told to look for 3 freaky images which we though might inspire us and my 3 images were

my final image was based on a ad which i can't find
but is sort of the image i made here but is more clear on the original
the way i would improve my image is different location which would give it more of a freaky look
like in a emergency exit then simply a collage door

i would of improved the text to give it a better dark look then the green light text which makes it look jolly for no reason

i should of used 3 different areas for each image then doing the same place 3 times

the reason i made this is safety advert always have a creepy feel which advertise living and what you should do to stay alive there has been any ads but there quite rare when it comes to freaky so i made mine sort like a comeback to freaky safety ads

the reason i wanted psa ads which over here we call it pifs (public information film)which is becoming rare since they use a smart way to tell people no which the way they did it was by fear since how else can you explain death without sounding negative sure is not for kids but it will stick to there mind so when they offer to smoke or been asked to speed there mind iwll trigger telling them NO which will save lifes

the library

today in lesson we learnt about the liberty where we can use printer for color and b&w and found interesting books and dvds like whiplash and the art of darkness (image below)
is helpful in reading these books which help with all subject in collage like art

ad plan

we have planned a freaky video ad for our work this is what the ad is gonna be like

it starts with a person going to his computer with a CD and he sits down and put the CD in as the camera zoom in on the speaker on the computer tower as it move to the first "short" (shorts are like previews to what your brain will image when hearing the songs)

  • first short - the same person who was on the computer is climbing up a spiral stairs which he look a back worried like he is getting chased
  • second short - we start with a 180o shot of a man on his pc just typing then we see one of his eye which is stitched closed and other eye which is complete white ans we see a quick message front he screen and the person falls forward 
it goes back to the owner of the cd as he takes cd out and looks at it as text explains what happen and what the product is
i am blogging to say that i got everything ready for the filming
  • we had our storyboard drawn and we described it
  • we have our props made
  • we made our spider diagram and explained what we having in our film 
  • we explained our advert 
  • we sorted out the actors(sam), directors(me) and camera wo/man(jess)
  • we planned our environment

i made a freaky ad which mine was about safety

 this was me holding a bat which i crop out myself and put into the background
 this was a mistake image which cna be fixed by editing out the person on the left then i use it as a background
 this image is the robber looking thought the door giving it a creepy look which i choose that so people can look but maybe see it the second time they look at the image
this is my result which i cropped out the door and me and put it in image 2 then i added text about how to be safe from robbers who target your house

i am working in a team and in the team is kaza (me), jess and sam

jess want to be the camerawoman but not a actor

sam is gonna be actor 

kaza (me) is good at coming up with ideas (that maybe be good and bad)

we reached ads that are strange these are the 3 we found

old spice (new) - is a angry man who shouts about his product with odd effect that forces you to research and check out the product which is useful for us since is like a trap to get people to look at the product and find out if its for them

playstation 2 The third place - this was 16 ads made by David lynch which have a strange but interesting twist which is slogan is "different place different rules" which means playstation doesn't follow the laws of our place for example this bambi ad which we choose cause the ad gave a twist and shows of what this place is like where the rules swap showing that our product is new is the "3rd place"

calbee panchi dog - a mascot who gets a child to buy his crisps cause... um... anyways  we choosed this cause of how strange it is on a low level no freaky editing is just a man in a dog suit who dose "dog things" to get a kid to eat his product

today i got to make a banner which i had to use gradient(which was not easy to get used to) and i use the shapes tool to make a rectangle and added comic sans text for the text here what the result is

today i made 3 ghostly images by using a transparent tool and cropping and quick selection here are the 3 images
johnny is possessed and had his face ripped out and fused on a train and is gonna run over a (headless) person
she just can't take the hearing from her own mother and chooses to end it but shes stuck in look as a ghost
the ship was lost for months but something was dragging it but oddly they feel like the ship is floating as well as sailing they think this is a joke

honest ads

today we saw ads and we tried to make our own honest ads which tell the truth about a product like i chose nestle which i mention about how the factory pollute the earth so draw a kid eating the chocolate bar which smoke with the funnel of a factory  which is to represent that each bar that was made caused more pollution

white balance

this is sort like a color correction since there different amount of light between indoors and outdoors 
when the camera is inside the camera shows the room as blue but when outside is more white and white balance gets the area into the right amount of light so the color of the room is correct

music in ads

car ad
the music has a upbeat dj like feel saying this car is new and trendy gives you a happy party like mood for this car

makeup ad
this song has sad mood like putting make up on is the best feeling and when your done you will miss the awesome feeling up getting yourself ready with this product
sofa ad
this music gives it cheerful mood saying that it will feel like to sit on it and wanna say is fantastic to there sofas

the music on all 3 seem to fit the mood of the advert like the robot car dancing to the beat and the fantastic furniture song explained the company simply which they were diagetic which means the music fits with the context that's in the footage while non digetic means that the sound/music doesn't fit the context in the footage

freaky ads

today i learnt to use

i commonly already learnt these but the "new" thing i learnt was the 180 rule which before i didn't understand but today i understood this complatly

i got to watch a short film (which i already seen) called soft about bullying whiched use good camera angles good actors and so on short film here

we learnt that we will be doing advertising for both photos and videos
we learnt about slogans that are used so when you hear it you remember the product 
we made a ad on paper based on

  • where it will be advertised

and i got 
  • young teen boy (13-15)
  • shampoo
  • online banner ad
heres our work that we did

we choosed to make it a sponcered shampoo that 50p will "apperently" go to the charity of paul walker 
the bottle was shaped like a car based on the movie about carsand the slogan is "fast shampoo furious effect"
